I think we all remember where we were that moment. I do very strongly and it will forever be etched into the memory.

It was a happy weekend; I’m actually three months pregnant with my son at this time (which a few years after 9/11, when I found the photo freaked me out completely because I imagined being on the top, with him safe inside, and I found I couldn’t stop the vision of seeing a plane hurtle towards us and hit lower down and the ensuing panic).
As much as any terrorist attack is abhorrent this one just will not leave my mind, nor yours, nor most peoples I suggest x

I was in secondary school when that happened. Last year I visited the site and felt very emotional. Actually been there in person made it feel even more real and reminded me of watching the horror unfold on the news channels. It is a beautiful and peaceful place now carved with the names of those who lost their lives. It was nice to be able to see it and give a few moments of my time to pay respect.

I plan one day to do the same … I’m glad they did not rebuild on the exact spot but instead created a sanctuary for peaceful moments for visitors like yourself, and my daughter.

I worked in Tower #2 for about a year and a half, and almost took a job afterwards at the Cellar in the Sky (the wine cellar attached to the Windows on the World restaurant). I’m glad I turned it down, instead taking a job on the Jersey side of the Hudson…where we watched both planes hit, then the towers collapse. Still seems so surreal looking out every day over the Manhattan skyline with a single tower instead of two dominating downtown.
That’s a great pic. Brought back a lot of memories….

Bless you …. so many stories like that from fortunate people who were spared the horror.
When my daughter had the chance to visit, I encouraged it. She said ground zero has been designed as a memorial and it was breathtaking in its humanity.
Watching it for real across the river must have been horrifying and heart-breaking. So many Americans affected directly or indirectly. The victims themselves … there are no words to convey the feeling in the pit of my stomach when I imagine what they must have gone through….
It is beyond emotional to even contemplate.
Least we can all work together to maintain solidarity against that word I will not type 🕊

I remember where I was and what I was doing as news coverage swooped in LIVE on all channels… we were on holiday In Cornwall, children were toddlers, I’ll never forget watching in horror as the first tower was on fire and then in front of our eyes, the second one was hit. Makes me shudder now that those visions were not from a Hollywood movie but were for real… 😔😣
