Relax. Just for once.
I hereby give you permission to read to the end of this post (🤣) then put your phone down, on silent, leave the iPad in a different room, poor yourself a drink or pop kettle on for a cuppa and find an old cowboy film on the telly or play some music, sit back and relax. You deserve it. Stop worrying about everyone else for a minute, will you?
I decided to do this earlier and read my book for two hours in PJs in the sofa. How decadent! I felt guilty. Why? ‘Learned behaviour’ … or … ‘habit’ .
One I seriously intend to break 💪🏼💫

Currently being jobless but attempting to blog and write a novel (in the very early stages of planning, at the mo) around traditional work hours, I nevertheless took your advice. I had a coffee, it was a terrible start to my day. The packet (local coffee is packeted here) exploded everywhere, I overfilled the cup and spilled some and then burnt my tongue on the coffee. I think this memorable start bodes well for visiting your bog more often.

Disaster!!!
I HATE burning my tongue … it suffers for hours after doesn’t it? 😣
How about a cool orange juice tomorrow morning?!
Do hang around .. although good luck with the job search 👌🏼

I think I will mix it up with cool melon juice. Thank you, I am looking into some financial advisor roles or maybe freelancing for a newspaper. I like the adventure of finding out.

Totally empathise with that.. the ‘journey’ to somewhere and anticipation is often more exiting than the destination!

My daughter works from home. I’m going to tell her that she only needs to sound like she’s dressed! This is a good post for me to read as I find it very hard to relax and let go.

Glad it resonated 🌸
We all get so caught up in the misconstrued idea that everything needs finishing NOW that we never take the time to just … be.
I blame that amazing monk’s book I read in January!!!!

I like what Fingers to the Sky said – I will have to remember that as well. Today I sat down – and just sat. I chilled. I don’t usually do that and will find a million things I need to do instead and feel like I am “lazy” if I choose to sit – which is a trait I abhor. Today, I really enjoyed myself! You are right – it is okay to relaaaaaax!

Robyn… this is music to my ears!
It must have almost been like a mini meditation for you, maybe without the music?!!!
Have a great week and don’t forget to do it again!! 🌸🥂

“Relax. Just for once.” I so needed someone to tell me that!

We rarely give yourselves permission do we?
Even just an hour of doing something a little more selfish than usual. Even reading a whole newspaper rather than the front page as we carry it inside the house 🤣
Or it might be something peculiar such as clearing out a drawer or cupboard … not essential but keeps nagging. I want to clear my old make up out .. ive wanted to do this for months and I know much of it is ‘out of date’ if I follow manufacturers’ recommendations for ‘use by’ …. but I NEVER do the job because there always appear to be more important tasks. Yet I know when I do it, the calm and satisfaction I shall feel will be enormous!

I actually just got back from kayaking….Alone. It was amazing. But now I feel less guilty about it. 😂
