A moment sat still,
Watching the world go by.
Chocolate dust sprinkled
On the cream piled high,
🌸
I know I shouldn’t,
Eat too much sugar.
May be hereditary,
This diabetes with mother.
🌸
But I’m sure it’s more to do
With the lack of exercise,
Her 30-a day, life choice
Could lead to her demise.
🌸
Yet she hates the advice
From doctors and experts
Trying to help her gain
A life full of comfort.
🌸
Hates with a passion if you dig down,
Anyone and everyone it seems.
Some people you cannot help
Even if your good intentions work in dreams.
🌸
I stick now to my new self esteem,
Without stepping into arrogant territory.
Head held high, I believe what I believe;
The diabetes nurse and her authority.
Mothers & daughters…. a complex , emotional roller coaster! Loved your poem & the pic…. Mmmmm!!!!! Have a great day! 💙
