Entertaining and oh so true.
Bloggers are aware their time on WP should be as creative as possible, not only with their delivery of prose, but also through engagement with each other.
And that, right there, is a conundrum.
Me time.
We’ve all been told we need more of it, and to feel less guilty about taking it, but then sod all else gets done!
I also have days when I might post three or four times as does this entertaining writer whose post I’ve shared with you. Why?
Because I become overwhelmed by a notion that I need to share something. There and then.
I admire bloggers who plan their posts, editing a piece until it is perfect, engaging and long enough to say something but short enough that you can still tend to the needs of your day – and they post once a week. Done. (I bet their houses are neat too).
I type. I post. I edit. So wrong!! 😂🙈
I’m not sure how much longer I can keep up this pace.
No, I’m not talking about sex. I’m talking about blogging. So if you saw the title of this post and that’s the only reason you’re here, you can leave now.
I write and post at least three or four times a day. Sometimes five or six times.
I love writing, exercising my imagination and creativity. I love keeping the synapses firing in this old brain of mine.
I love it when people read, like, and respond to my posts. It’s addictive, like a narcotic, a rush, a shot of adrenaline.
I love responding to prompts, including my own.
But there are just so many writing prompts these days. Stream of consciousness prompts, one-liner prompts, word prompts, story prompts, photo prompts.
So many that it makes my stomach and intestines start to grumble and rumble as I try to figure out…

Haha. The word Sex made me click the blog indeed, I’m new to the blogging community. But found this blog amazing. Definitely eye catching.

Hi!
☺️ well you’re welcome here any time!
Mostly I don’t talk about sex, although I do enjoy writing the occasional piece of dark fiction, and sensual fiction.. 😈

I plan and schedule in advance my daily one-word prompts (https://fivedotoh.com/2018/08/21/fowc-with-fandango-being/), but other than that, I’m a “seat of the pants” blogger. I don’t plan my posts out in advance and, since I post 3-5 times a day, they sort of roll out of my consciousness. Unfortunately, while I try to proofread, too many typos make it through and it’s mortifying when I find them after my post has been published. And it’s even more mortifying when other bloggers point them out to me. But I blog exclusively on my iPhone, so I blame autocorrect for my typos. That’s my excuse and I’m sticking with it.

Oh same here!!
Seriously … I’m on my phone right now (when really I should be going to sleep!)… auto correct is horrendous… and I’ve had that too, that mortifying feeling .. for example when I want to use the word ‘just’ in a sentence and ‘Judy’ turns up. I mean bloody hell – who let her in?? 🤣

I wish I had time to plan my posts – they typically tumble out onto the keyboard when I get a chance – which is usually when I’m tired, cranky, and introspective at the end of the day. Oh to have the life of one of the bullet journal maniacs, who fill their pages with drawings and their days with coffee, yoga, and I can’t imagine what else.

I’ll grab the yoga, or three minutes of stretching in front of a good BBC drama (like ‘Age before Beauty’ which just finished 👌🏼) and a coffee..
I have yet to do bullet points but do scribble ideas for chapters in an old diary from last year which a company delivered and was never used 💫
I’m simply not organised. At all!

Hey, it’s your blog, and you keep it for your own reasons. I try to hold my posts for a few days and read through them at least a couple of times a day before I post them, but that’s partly from insecurity. And that insecurity is justified, because I make multiple edits EVERY DAMN TIME that I read it. I’ll probably read this comment five times before I hit “send,” so your way of blogging sounds refreshing.

😂😂🤗 thank you for sharing that insight; glad I’m not alone with the needing to check for edits .. in my case, glaring typos and tense problems!!
Ok .. for now, I’ll keep waffling 👌🏼🥂

I’m the same way I’ve been writing everyday the past couple of months but despite of that most of what I write I tend to consider is garbage.
I’ll throw out whole blog post if I dislike them. I never do feel quite satisfied with what I ride so it’s very much inspiring to see you post once a day viola , it don’t burn yourself out!

Processing… as in thinking about it having finished reading it? Or are you doing an experiment with the pages?

Is it? Really?
Why… that’s good to hear. I’m glad you look forward to reading my waffle 🤪
I’m very aware I’ve not been visiting my followers’ blogs as often as I’d like to have done recently. But then… I looked back at my activity throughout 2018 and my reading of posts disintegrated when my business got busy. It should slow down around October … (so I’ll see you November 😂🙄🙈)

You just can’t get the friends these days can you? 🙈☺️
Perhaps instead you can find me a nice chair in your laboratory so I can read all my how-to-write books while watching you in a white lab coat stare down a microscope?! 😃😂

We have plenty of space! But we don’t wear lab coats or use microscopes maybe in a biology lab you’d wear lab coat but not in a physics lab .

Oooh, sounds intriguing … like the underworld to Batman’s cave … or Q’s den!
Do me a favour. You have to read Julie Cohen’s ‘Together’ .. it was out only this year. I met her at the RNA conference (star struck I was) and have secured a place on her November creative writing course!!!!!! 😱
Let me know what you think of that. I’ve just bought a copy of TTTW from a seller on eBay 💫👌🏼

I hardly ever plan anything in advance. Sometimes I write something the night before and schedule it to come out in the early hours while I’m fast asleep, but most of what I type comes straight out of my brain, through my fingers and onto the page. That probably accounts for all my errors 😉

I am the same .. I believe that makes us pantsers! (Is that how you spell it?).
I’ve got to the stage now where I feel a little more thought and planning will reaps better rewards… what I mean by that is I feel my blog is almost too mixed/varied! (This is where you tell me it’s perfect just as it is 🤣)… but I feel my blogging is metaphorical for the book … and I’m still not 100% convinced which genre it will sit in. Does that make sense?
I think I want to write romance. But I keep sliding into dark fiction… 🙈

It is fine just the way it is. I love variety. I do worry that the ‘industry’ is so obsessed with genre’s. I find the films I like to watch and the books I like to read, have elements of a number of genre’s in them. They may have a war theme, but aren’t really a war story, they have elements of romance and fantasy but can’t be pigeonholed into Romance or Fantasy. It is a shame that to be marketable in the eyes of the publishers a story has to conform and they have to understand it. It is a shame we can’t unleash a creative revolution. I’ll start the chant, we will not be categorised! 😉

Agree. Facebook celebrates illiteracy and not fake news, but fake lives or morals.
Wordpress is for those who actually read the book at school instead of gamed the system into a higher paying job.
